Long Live Safer Internet Day 2015!

We’ve been blown away this year by the reaction to #SID2015 (opens new window) – have you?

We’re all for raising awareness on the responsible use of online technology amongst young people and it’s been inspiring to see so many organisations, businesses, charities and everyday people get behind the day.

Earlier this week, we wrote about just a few of the ways you can help keep you family safe online,  but hats off to everybody who supported the day itself – here are some of our highlights…can you add to the list?:

  • Safer Internet Day itself created #Up2Us (opens new window), an awesome film with over 150 school children talking about their experiences online. They also provided a huge range of downloadable resources
  • Mental Health charity Young Minds created a virtual high five with its #matesmatter (opens new window) campaign and encouraged young people to show that they’re there for their friends
  • Sophos, a security software and hardware developer,  put together a list of  Top 10 Tips (opens new window) to keep children safe online
  • The Guardian wrote this exceptional article (opens new window) about #SID2015 on the day itself
  • NSPCC updated its Online Safety For Children (opens new window) Pinterest page – a fantastic visual way to discover their broad range of online safety advice

This is more than enough to motivate us to keep working together to make the internet a safer place. We’re very much looking forward to next year, so long for now #SID2015!
